Real Stories from Real Families

How financial advice has helped everyday families find peace of mind

Stronger insurance with no out-of-pocket cost

As a nurse and avid hiker, I knew I had insurance cover in my employer super and just assumed it would be enough but when I had an accident that kept me off work for 8 weeks and went to claim I was absolutely shocked and it did nothing useful for me or my family. I then made an appointment with Success Planning. Sean showed me that the life cover was a 1/3 of my mortgage, the salary cover was only $850pm payable after 3 months but only for 2 years maximum. Thankfully I was able to have this very costly mistake fixed for any future claims with income payable for accidents being covered from day 1 and my mortgage fully covered for my dependents. Sean was still able to arrange the cost to be paid from my employer super fund and I wasn't out of pocket for the much better cover.

Chef Seasoning Tomatoes
Flexible coverage for family debt

I'm a busy chef in an industry that's always evolving. Needless to say that our employers aren't always the same from apprenticeship to retirement. I knew I needed insurance with young kids and a mortgage but it was all too hard, especially if I changed jobs. When I saw Sean at Success Planning he arranged my insurance so that if I did change jobs at some point in the future my insurance would continue on in to my next job without any hassles or time without cover. I am confident that I now have the cover I need without just the minimum in my industry super and any new employer can pay my super straight into my existing fund without having to lose insurance benefits, change funds or even having multiple funds. I'm so glad I made the appointment and my wife is much happier knowing that should something unfortunate happen then my income and the family debt will be taken care of.

Printing Process
The benefit of hindsight

Sean had arranged to come and do my insurances as I'd taken out a $1m loan to buy new printing equipment for my business. The fire sale valuation reduced almost 100% when the equipment was used but I still had the debt. I stupidly cancelled the insurance appointment at the last minute as I was invited on a golfing long weekend with the boys. Unfortunately for me, my business and my family and after Sean had been chasing me for another 6 months to do the insurance, I was diagnosed with 3 Malignant Melanomas on my back that I thought were just itchy spots. Should I have done my insurance when I had the chance the first time a claim would have been payable on the diagnosis that would have extinguished the business and personal debt (releasing me as the Guarantor) medical expenses and a bit of extra income that would have allowed me the time with my family to recover. I am now uninsurable. I encourage everyone to not leave Success Planning's protection services until it's too late!
